It’s 8PM and I really don’t want to study. So going on youtube I saw the speech @ Stanford by Steve Jobs was on the homepage of youtube. I remembered watching that video a year ago. It was really inspiring. If you have listened to the speech you discover that Steve Jobs never has finished college, but was the founder of apple and Pixar. So now I’m thinking…is college really necessary? Because…if I do what I like to do everything will be all right….right!? Is this thought because of the speech I just saw? Or is it because I have no desire to study LOL…But serious guys, what do you guys think? It’s college really necessary to be successful? Let me know what you think!

i think before you decide you should consider your plan and see if there’s any negative things about it and see not we only think but what your family thinks cause your family is the greatest support =D

Hi Ping! It seems like lots of students are wondering the same thing as you: is college really necessary? Obviously, no, college is not necessary to be successful in life; however, it IS a benefit and there are many many people who wish that they had a college degree and college experience (even successful people). I earned my BA from college, but I still don’t have a wonderful career or all my dreams fulfilled and I am still paying for all that education. But I don’t regret it and, if I could go back, I would still go to college. College was an eye-opening experience. Some of my strongest friendships were made in college. I met and learned things from many different people and professors who encouraged me to develop myself into who I want to be, to not give up, to face challenges, and know what I believe. It was one of the biggest hurdles of my life, but it made me stronger and I did it. You will do it, too, and when you make an effort to get everything you can out of college, then you won’t regret it. Jiāyóu!

maybe you should see if whatever you want to do requiers college… if being a youtuber is what you want to do, then go to school while doing your vids… if you make enough money, then you can drop out. and it wud be beneficial to learn somemore special effects and stuff in college…. im a freshmen in college.. it sucks but i know ill need the education
